Welcome to Little Green Studio! I am a working mom by day, horticulturist by night. Maybe it’s the lengthy New England winters, but something about indoor gardening lights a green flame in my soul – I love bringing a little bit of the outdoors inside. I used to say I had a black thumb, but the real truth is that I didn’t have a ton of extra time to spend doting on fussy plants. I bought myself a couple of succulents at a vintage fair a couple of years ago, and never looked back. I am now a reformed black thumb who is picky about plants. Only the self-sufficient will do.
My plant obsession has led to me to try anything and everything, and I report back on the real stalwarts – the plants that can handle my inattention. When I have a sick kid, work stress and a to-do list a mile long, my houseplants are going to have to wait. I’ll tell you which ones can handle it and even thrive in the process! Houseplants don’t have to be hard. You just have to know which ones to get. Spoiler alert: It’s not always the one the internet claims are easy, or so says every fern I’ve ever tried (may they rest in peace).
